Can You Fit a Snowmobile in a Tacoma

  • #2

information technology'll fit, the only thing that might give you greif is the distance between the bike wells, your sled might sit lop-sided. but with the tail gate downwardly and a couple straps she'll stay in there.

You lot merely got to be determined enough to brand it work with what you got or will accept.

I wish I had taken some photos of a Tacoma with sled in the back. I'm thinking it was a short box, because the ski'south fit and thats nearly information technology. The track was well-nigh dragging on the footing, and the tailgat was bent in a "U" shape, it was hilarious, merely dangerous. I like the Tacoma, simply unless information technology's a long box, I wouldnt employ it to haul your sled.

I wish I had taken some photos of a Tacoma with sled in the back. I'm thinking information technology was a short box, because the ski's fit and thats about it. The rail was near dragging on the ground, and the tailgat was aptitude in a "U" shape, it was hilarious, only dangerous. I like the Tacoma, but unless it'south a long box, I wouldnt use information technology to booty your sled.

I thought that was why you lot are supposed to lift the sled up to close the tailgate?

You mean the short half-dozen' ish box and not the shorter 5' box that comes on some doublecabs, correct?

If yes, then aye it will fit with the only problem being distance betwixt the cycle wells. If y'all're worried almost that, lots of guys around here get a sled bed fabricated that raises the sled upwards above the wells and has a ramp underneath....some are fifty-fifty longer than the box and plug into the reciever hitch

don't they brand some kind of truck bed extender that fits into the hitch reciever? Take the tail gate off and and then use that extender to rest the runway on.

something like this

dif companies make heavier duty ones, but for only a couple of hundred bucks, non too expensive

Right at present I take an 89 Chev longbox for pulling my sled which gets 12 mpg. I was thinking of selling the truck and my automobile to buy an 05-08 Tacoma, simply I'm not sure if my sled will fit.

Has anyone seen a Tacoma with a sled in it? Got any photos handy?

Tin can I become away with the brusque box and some tie downs?

Thanks for the help :beer;

I saw an Apex in the back of a Tacoma in Revy a couple of weekends ago. Information technology was strapped at the front so it wouldn't fall out as the tailgate was sagged out to near the footing. So I guess you can practice it but why would you want such a girly truck?

What year Tacoma do yous want?
They aren't every bit cheap to buy every bit your 89 Chev.

Hmmmm. Sell your 89 Chev that'southward worth about maybe 5k, and purchase a Tacoma that costs 10-20k to save on fuel mileage.

I'll bet it'll accept you a LONG fourth dimension to brand up that $5-10k in price difference.

Ya, but then there's the whole driving a brand new truck instead of an 89 matter LOL
